This is a single vineyard wine, from a vineyard named Lilen. This is to show off the exceptional characteristics that each vineyard and its terroir reveals. This has intense, complex aromas and flavours of fresh, juicy stone-fruits with a zesty acidity.
Producer note: Anakena
Quite a large producer, for us anyway, with a total of around 400 hectares. The vineyard itself was founded in the 1990's by Felipe Ibáñez and his childhood friend, Jorge Gutiérrez. The name refers means "bird cave" from the Rapa Nui language of Easter Island.

Brut Reserve, , Charles Heidsieck, £45.00 France, White
Triple gold-medal winner 2012: Gold IWC, Trophy DWWA, Gold IWSC
Class and sophistication are what Heidsieck embodies. Complex pastry aromas, with an opulent combination of ripe apricot, mango and greengages, dried fruits, pistachio and almond. The palate begins with a silky smooth sensation, developing into ripe fleshy apricot, melon and enticing plum pastry notes and delicate spice. A perfect balance of freshness and generosity.
Brut Vintage, 2009, Henners, £30.50 England, White
Biscuity, brioche aromas, with delicate white flower and full fruit. Flavours are fresh with nicely delicate citrus and apple with a 'lees' character adding complexity.
