PLEASE CAN YOU RECOMMEND A WHITE WINE AND A RED FOR A PARTY.  I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SCEW TOPS FOR EASE OF OPENING.  THE WHITE SHOULD BE CRISP BUT NOT TOO SHARP AND THE RED EASY TO DRINK AND FRUITY. AS TO PRICE I WOULD THINK ABOUT £6 OR A LITTLE MORE A BOTTLE.

WE HAVE BOUGHT FROM THE SHOP BEFORE AND TRUST YOUR JUDGEMENT

WE WILL TRY AND CALL IN TO THE SHOP ON SATURDAY BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS BEFORE THEN I WOULD BE PLEASED TO HEAR FROM YOU

I like, very much, your site.!  Very refreshing and practical for consumers!

Just one thing:

The Juan Garcia grape variety is NOT from the Salamanca area, as you mistakingly indicate on your site.

Instead, this unique grape variety, Juan Garcia, is authoctonous to the medieval town of Fermoselle, located in a remote area named: El Sayago, not Salamanca.  Although, some growers in Salamanca may have the Juan Garcia grape in their very small plantings.  Salamanca has more cattle than anything else and is known mostly for its University of Salamanca, which is among the five oldest in the world.  Recently, Salamanca was named Capital of culture of Europe by the Eurpean Union.

Fermoselle is an ancient small medieval town, which dates back over 2,000 years and is situated on the border bewteen Portugal and Spain, at the only geographic point in the Iberian peninsula where the legendary Tormes River ("Lazarillo de Tormes" is the first comedic Spanish Novel anonomously written--a must in knowing Spanish literature) and the Majestic Duero River meet to form a single confluence.  It is, also, only at this location--in all of the Duero River--where an enormous Cannyon formation is found, creating a true microclimate condition, considered a giant geological phenomenom of Spain, which precisely sits within a natural park named: Arribes del Duero (Arribes the name given for its giagantic hanging cliffs found only here alongside the Duero River).  Fermoselle is popularly considered its natural capital.

I am a vitner in Fermoselle who has resisted eliminating its very old vineyards (some dating over 100 years, centenarian and all of the Juan Garcia unique grape variety) through incentives provided for that purpose by the European Union.  I descend from a very old line family in this town of Fermoselle.

Colin/Ian

As well as the two Ribero del Duero wines discussed today i.e. Aster and Bodagas Alion can you also let me know about the two riojas Sierra Cantabria AND Senorio de San Vicente. When I lived in Spain my friendly local wine mad restauranteur/ wine merchant would wax lyrical about this powerful quartet. Cheers Jim

We purchased 6 bottles of Enate Chardonnay 234 from you today and having just enjoyed a bottle find it is as good as we remembered in Spain recently.

Since the 6 bottles we purchased were the last you had in stock, please let us know when you receive some more and we will place a further order with you.

I was wondering whether you ship to Australia. If so, what would be the total price including shipping for three bottles of 2005 Mollydooker Carnival of Love?

I have just found and joined your excellant site whilst looking for 'sulphite' information for a friend who finds it difficult to find wines that don't contain sulphites (doh!). I am sure that the page from John's Blog will reinforce what I have already told them.

Whilst rootling around the rest of your site I would like to query the location given for the Bladnoch distillery. True, it is a Lowland distillery but not, I think, on Speyside. The Bladnoch I know is, in fact, the most southerly of all Scottish distilleries and is situated on the Solway Firth, a few miles south of Newton Stewart in Dumfries & Galloway. I visited it last November and purchased a few bottles. A dram to be recommended!

I am with the High River Liquor Store in High River Alberta.  I would like to carry the Jim Berry The Cover Drive Cabernet Sauvignon.  Could you please advise me of whom to contact in Canada to order this product.

Thank you,
